Handcuffing

Handcuffing Training Course

Handcuffing is a skill that is usually taught in the police academy, but is not given much thought after the initial training.

It is necessary to revisit handcuffing and teach not only the basics, but to stay abreast of the legal liability from applying these restraints.  The course covers the use of hinged cuffs, chain cuffs and flex cuffs.  We educate the students about in-custody deaths as well as injuries caused by using restraints.  The instuctor course is eight (8) hours and the user course is four (4) hours.
